Another Tufts is Possible 3: This is What Abolition Looks Like

This Another Tufts Is Possible webinar is dedicated to exploring the concrete ways students on our campus and nation-wide are addressing systemic racism, anti-Blackness, and the violence inherent in all policing. The work to divest from, defund, and abolish campus police forces is already underway. Students and staff organizers from Yale, UCLA, and Brown will join abolition activists at Tufts to discuss what abolition looks like right now, as well as the life-affirming options for restorative justice and transformative practice that campuses are choosing instead. Another Tufts is Possible 4: Cultivating Communities of Care

This Another Tufts is Possible (ATIP) webinar centers caring for the health and well-being of Black, Latinx, Indigenous, and Asian members of the Tufts community, who experience a disproportionate burden of managing multiple and overlapping pandemics. You'll hear from students caring for students, students engaging with faculty in conversations around care in the classroom, Tufts alumni, and Tufts staff — all speaking to how they are cultivating communities of care, as well as how together we can work toward building community at Tufts centered on care. The webinar will be facilitated by Erin Seaton and Silas Pinto (both of the Department of Education). Speakers will include: Jillian Impastato and student partners (Pedagogical Partnership Program) Aliesha Porchena (GSAS Community Fellow) Sean Lee '19 (environmental storyteller) Marilyn Downs (Counseling & Mental Health Service) Elyse Nelson Winger (University Chaplaincy)
